Royal wedding: Doors open and the Beckhams are in the (Westminster Abbey) house

The north doors are open at Westminster Abbey and guests are arriving in their British best. The red carpet is awash in spring color. It’s chapeau-palooza with festive hats in hot pink, royal blue and sunshine yellow, in shapes resembling artists’ palettes and flying saucers, decorated with pinwheels, flowers and feathers. The men are in morning coats or three-piece suits, tartan kilts or officers’ caps.
Victoria Beckham is wearing a design from her own collection -- a demure-looking dark blue sheath dress (big enough to accommodate her pregnancy bump), and a suitably wacky hat by Philip Treacy perched at the front of her head. Hubby David is wearing a suit, his Order of the British Empire medal on his lapel, formal wing-collar shirt and necktie with four-in-hand knot by American designer Ralph Lauren, a nod to his adopted home across the Atlantic perhaps? Well done.
