Madonna’s silver dress and bulging biceps may have been a bit rigid, but her easy, beachy waves certainly worked to soften things up.
“She wanted easy, natural texture,” says her longtime hair dresser Andy Lecompte. He started by rough drying the hair, manipulating and emphasizing her natural texture. He applied a mist of Wella Thermal Heat Protection spray to protect the hair from heat as well as add even more texture.
For the loose waves, Lecompte used his Phi platform 1-inch flat iron to make soft, “s” formations throughout the hair.
Finally, to create some piecey-ness, he used a mist of Wella’s Ocean Spritz to break up the waves and give the hair an overall tousled, relaxed look.
