Who’s better at clipping coupons? Men or women?
Men, definitely.
That’s what Teri Gault says, and she should know. Gault is the founder of The Grocery Game, an online service that gives thrifty shoppers the skinny on coupon use and supermarket sales. She has over 150,000 membership households in the U.S. and overseas. The vast majority of ‘players’ are women, but there are also many men.
And based upon her unscientific analysis, Gault says men win this one, hands down.
‘Men love the thrill of the hunt. They get competitive,’ she said. Couponing is elevated to an art form by those who patiently track supermarket sales until prices hit a rock-bottom low -- and then, and only then, deploy their coupons. Men, for whatever reason, are more willing to sacrifice and wait for those rock-bottom prices, Gault said.
‘Men get absolutely militant about it. And that’s how you save money,’ she said.
So, how do you save money at the supermarket?
