Live at the Redwood: It’s dinner! -- cooked by the chef-frontman of electro-punk band Spirit Animal. The band is dinner-partying their way to a summer tour to promote their debut album, fittingly titled ‘The Cost of Living.’
To raise money for the tour, Spirit Animal’s Steve Cooper, a former Cafe Stella grill cook, is preparing a three-course dinner at the Redwood Bar downtown. It’s part of their ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’ fund-raising campaign, a project launched through Kickstarter.com. In exchange for pledges, Cooper is offering to cook dinner for fans in their kitchens.
For $250, Cooper will work with you to come up with a three-course menu for you and up to four of your friends in the L.A. area. ‘The choices will be vast and your pledge will cover all food costs, including two bottles of boutique wine or the equivalent in liquor, beer or Sunny D.’
The Redwood dinner takes place June 30, on the final night of the pledge drive. Dinner is $65, or $85 with wine pairings from Matthew Kaner of Covell wine bar in Los Feliz (set to open any day now). There are two seatings: one at 6 p.m. and one at 8 p.m. For reservations, e-mail info@spiritanimal.us.
