Joe Torre gave an informative 16-minute radio interview Tuesday on WFAN in New York.

Among other things, Torre said the Dodgers are still looking for a fifth starter, that Clayton Kershaw isn’t afraid to step into the No.1 role and there were tears in the clubhouse after last year’s loss to the Phillies in the National League Championship Series that bode well for the coming season.

Torre also said he thought Russell Martin might be thinking too much about home runs, and that if he concentrates on line drives can be a .310-.315 hitter.

He said he was talking to the team about adding another year to his expiring contract.
