Manny Ramirez was out of the Dodgers’ lineup for the third consecutive day on Saturday, as Manager Joe Torre opted to once again start Scott Podsednik in left field. Torre mentioned the possibility of sitting Ramirez again after the Dodgers’ 6-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday, as he said he might want to field the same lineup the next day.

So Ramirez appears to be in a box of sorts: The Dodgers say they can’t let him go to the Chicago White Sox because they have to win games, but because they have to win games, they can’t afford to play him.
