Chandi Design sample sale on Etsy

When we profiled chandelier designer Meredith Clark three years ago in Home, she was hand-stringing her breathtaking custom chandeliers on the porch of her 1910 Craftsman.

Years after founding her business, Chandi Design, Clark has seen her chandeliers grace the catalogs of Anthropologie and Neiman Marcus as well as several high-profile local stores.

Today, Clark is still creating one-of-a-kind creations at home and has added Sparkle, a lower-priced line, to her repertoire. Most recently, however, Clark began selling samples, ranging from $340 to $2,560 on Etsy at discounts of nearly 70%.

To illustrate the economics of such sales, this chandelier in a champagne finish with leaded turkish almonds and strass crystal prisms would normally retail for $1,450. But on Etsy, it is just $480.
