What we’re reading: The Wall Street Journal’s diaries of a deck gardener

Today, the Wall Street Journal published an excellent article by reporter and Hudson Valley deck gardener Gwendolyn Bounds. The story examines a host of new garden containers and kits, all intended for the gardening novice.

I am especially interested in the Farm in a Box kit (in the photo above) that will go on sale at Home Depot in a few weeks. It is a two-tiered system that allows one to grow vegetables and fish(!) all in one unit.
