Smash-and-grab burglars hit Sherman Oaks-area stores

Los Angeles police are looking for suspects responsible for a rash of smash-and grab burglaries in the Sherman Oaks area.

There have been seven incidents since Feb. 19 between Woodman Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard, and police said the crimes may be related.

‘I’m probably the fifth victim here on Ventura Boulevard,’ Maggie Cisneros of Rock Couture Vintage told KTLA-TV.

The thieves threw a rock through the window of Cisneros’ storefront early Feb. 24, KTLA reported.

‘They took Chanel handbags and Prada handbags and anything that is of value, and a fur,’ she said.

Cafe 50′s on Ventura Boulevard also was targeted last Friday, said manager Damien King.

‘Someone reported it right away, but by the time the cops got here, he was already up and gone,’ King said.

Surveillance video from burglaries at a Sherman Oaks TJ Maxx and an AT&T store shows a suspect throwing a brick through the front windows.

One suspect is described as about 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet in height and weighing about 170 pounds. The second is about 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds, police said.

They may have taken off in a light-colored compact car, police said.
