Submitter mum shares this detailed closeup of a carpet python, a constrictor snake native to Australia (particularly the states of Queensland, where mum found this one, and New South Wales).
Carpet pythons can grow to 10 feet in length and spend a large amount of their time in trees. They’re so named because, it is said, their intricate markings resemble Oriental rugs.
