Giada De Laurentiis: ‘Not a sliver of truth’ to John Mayer affair rumor

If every guy who’d said he was into Giada De Laurentiis actually took a run at the married Food Network host, even sexual dynamo John Mayer would have to wait in a very, very long line before getting his chance.
Despite that and De Laurenbtiis’ adamant denial, Star magazine has claimed that the two are an item, citing anonymous eyewitness accounts of them being spotted at two different New York hotels, then bolstering the claims with the dependable sure-it-could-happen argument from a ‘source close to John.’
‘This doesn’t surprise me one bit!’ the Star reported the source saying. ‘He’s always talked about how he was into her.’
Yeah, Mayer and half of the Internet. Seriously, remember that chunk of the decade when it was nearly impossible to visit a male-dominated discussion board without running into serious discourse about ‘Giada vs. Rachael Ray: Who’s hotter’? If the answer is no, you might need a few more keyboard cowboys in your life -- or you might simply be well adjusted.
On the side of sanity, Star cited the mother of a 2-year-old as saying that she and Mayer have met and she likes his music -- and denying anything remotely close to loving the smell of sexual napalm in the morning.
Demanding an apology and a retraction, a rep issued a much stronger statement Wednesday on Giada’s website: ‘To be clear, they are not friends and cannot even go so far as to call John Mayer an acquaintance. There is not a sliver of truth to Star magazine’s story.’
