Ron White covers the maritime industry, trade, transportation and the oil industry. He grew up in Cleveland, watching ore carriers like the Edmund Fitzgerald working on the Great Lakes. He spent 15 years as a reporter, editor and editorial writer at the Washington Post before moving to California to marry his college sweetheart, Nina. They have one son, Julian, who surfs and swims like a fish. Good thing, since his dad has all the buoyancy of a brick.
