Reader photo of the day. TakeFive e-mails this lunchtime snapshot of a luxury development on hold in San Dimas. Back story, from the Whittier Daily News: ‘A luxury-home developer has stopped working on a 19-acre project, leaving an empty mud flat that has become a playground for off-road enthusiasts. Eighteen large residences were planned for wooded land adjacent to Walnut Creek Wilderness Park. But city officials and neighbors said work halted several weeks ago, after the land had been leveled and more than 100 trees removed.’
