Report: WaMu’s finances solid enough, for now

Washington Mutual, oft rumored as a potential casualty of the mortgage bust and credit crunch, has enough capital and financing options to make it through at least 2008, says a report from research firm CreditSights.

WaMu shares got hammered again today amid another sell-off in financial shares. The stock was down 97 cents, or 8.4%, to $10.53. The recent 13-year closing low was $9.24 on March 17.
