Case-Shiller: U.S. home prices down 19%

The Case-Shiller home price index, which compares sales of individual homes to their previous sale price and accounts for changes like remodeling, dropped 19% in the first quarter from the same period a year ago.
Los Angeles-area home prices for March were down 22% from a year ago and are now down 41% from the 2006 peak.
