There are few ways to make a birthday even better, but free food is probably one of them.

Several major food chains are offering goodies gratis to consumers -- if they sign up for the companies’ free online fan clubs.

Kids under age 10 whose parents sign them up for CPKids Birthday Club through California Pizza Kitchen get a free CPKids Meal during their birthday month.

For those who create a My Cold Stone account, the Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Club will send a coupon for free ice cream.

At Red Robin, customers get a free burger on their birthdays if they sign up for the eClub.

And even if your birthday is nowhere in sight, two soft-serve Blizzard treats for the price of one are available at Dairy Queen. Just sign up for the Blizzard Fan Club.
