Starbucks Corp. is having a ‘blonde’ moment, adding its lightest blend ever to its selection of coffees.
Starting in January, the chain is to begin selling its Blonde roast in cafes and supermarkets, according to Reuters.
The brew, unveiled at an event Tuesday in Westwood, will have a more mild body and acidity than the dark roasts with which Seattle-based Starbucks is usually associated, the news service reported.
While some competitors such as Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf sell light roasts such as Kona coffee, others such as Peet’s Coffee & Tea stick to darker blends.
