Political cartoons, like those ubiquitous campaign attack ads, are supposed to hit hard. But after absorbing months of gutter-sniping, torrents of television and radio spots and a deluge of debate debacles, sometimes even cartoonists take a break from being partisan artisans. Props to Tom Meyer for wondering who’s at the controls of California’s high-flying initiative system. Rex Babin wants to know who’s cleaning up the paper trail after the windbags and blowhards. And Clay Bennett, referencing the reefer referendum, serves up chips and tips.
