Gov. Jerry Brown offered up some advice for other politicians during a Sunday interview on CBS’s ‘Face the Nation.’
“You don’t get things done overnight. It does take time,” Brown told host Bob Schieffer. “Things I was talking about 30 years ago ... they’re right at the top of the agenda today.’
The appearance capped a weekend of hobnobbing with celebrities and the political elite in Washington, D.C., where Brown attended the annual White House Correspondents Dinner. Others at the dinner included President Obama and actors George Clooney and Lindsay Lohan.
While Politico mused about a potential meeting between LiLo and J-Bro (a meeting that incidentally never happened), Brown used the weekend to make another national media appearance.
He urged Republicans to “move out of that reactionary cul de sac that some of the more extreme members are pushing them,” and said he intends to campaign for Obama this fall.
Brown said he expects a close race between the president and Republican Mitt Romney, and said the race could come down to one rhetorical misstep.
“I think it turns on if one of the candidates screws up first and makes a mistake,” Brown said.
