When Rihanna, who has become known for a few guest spots herself, asked her Twitter followers whom they wanted her to collaborate with, her fans overwhelmingly chose Britney Spears.
And that’s no surprise, considering that every pop star from Rihanna to Ke$ha has taken a page out of the book of Spears. The surprise, however, came when the guarded diva agreed to the collab. Though Spears has been making the (pre-taped) rounds in support of her latest album, “Femme Fatale,” the words “featuring Britney Spears” have never really been in her vocabulary. Until now.
The two teamed up for a remix of Rihanna’s sex romp “S&M,” which premiered early Monday on New York City radio station Z100.
“In order to do a remix, it had to be major,” Rihanna said in a phoned-in interview with morning show host Elvis. “I asked my fans last week who they really wanted me to collaborate with, and Britney was one of the most popular names. Britney doesn’t do features, and it was really amazing that she wanted to be a part of this song.”
The debut of the track came after a weekend of teasing from the two via Twitter.
Rihanna announced that she had ‘a sexy collabo comin’ your way supa dupa soon...OH YEAH!!! By popular demand....’ Before Spears (or, just as likely, one of her team) wrote, ‘You’re such a tease! I like it, like it ...’
Though the track didn’t get a huge makeover, Spears brought her own naughty verse to the already salacious track.
“Just one night full of sin/ Feel the pain on your skin/ Tough, I don’t scream ‘mercy’/ It’s your turn to hurt me/ If I’m bad, tie me down/ Shut me up, gag and bound me/ ‘Cuz the pain is my pleasure/ Nothing comes better,’ she sings in her signature coo.
Take a listen to the track after the jump.
