MOTHER’S DAY: Clark’s mother (Annette O’Toole) returns to Smallville with her new boyfriend in a new episode of “Smallville” at 8 p.m. on KTLA. SERIES
Ghost Whisperer: After three teenagers wind up in danger during what started out as a fun night, a boy’s ghost leads Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) to an unsolved kidnapping in this new episode (8 p.m. CBS).
Friday Night Lights: As Season 4 gets under way, Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) has difficulty uniting his new team, the East Dillon Lions, and Matt (Zach Gilford) lives as a townie for the first time, while Tim (Taylor Kitsch) finds his calling in the season premiere (8 p.m. NBC).
Live From Abbey Road: Mika; Bloc Party and La Roux perform in this new episode (8 p.m. Sundance).

Private Chefs of Beverly Hills: The chefs try to showcase a client’s sustainable produce in a meal to impress organic buyers, while a German businessman hires them to cook authentic cuisine for his Indian in-laws in this new episode (10 p.m. Food).
MOVIES
Quantum of Solace: This 2008 sequel to “Casino Royale” picks up shortly after the previous film ended, Daniel Craig’s second round as James Bond is largely a straight-ahead action machine that puts Agent 007 on the trail of the organization behind his true love’s death. Mathieu Amalric, Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton also star (6 p.m. Showtime).
