Nice to see Eric Gordon receiving the recognition he deserves.

One of his teammates recently called him ‘the quietest Clipper’ on the team, and these low-key guys tend to get overlooked when it comes to NBA props.

But it’s been a solid last week for the rookie. On Monday, Gordon was named the league’s Western Conference rookie of the month for his January production, which was highlighted by a career-high 41 points against Oklahoma City on Jan. 12. He beat out Minnesota’s Kevin Love for the honors.

Last week, Love, formerly of UCLA, was on the outside looking in, too, when Derrick Rose of the Bulls, O.J. Mayo of the Grizzlies and Gordon were among those chosen for the NBA’s rookie challenge game later this month during the league’s all-star weekend.

Meanwhile, there could be a slight glimmer of hope for the struggling Clippers against Miami later today. Tonight could mark the return of Zach Randolph (bruised knee), who has been upgraded to questionable. This would be his first game of 2009. If so, expect him to play limited minutes vs. the Heat.
