So much for that trade between the New Orleans Hornets and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

A few minutes ago, the Hornets announced that Tyson Chandler would ‘rejoin’ the team after their deal with the Thunder was ‘rescinded’ Wednesday night.

Apparently, the Thunder’s medical staff did not clear Chandler after he had his physical.

‘We welcome Tyson back with open arms,’ said New Orleans GM Jeff Bower in a statement. ‘We went into this trade to garner more front-court depth to add to our team as we continue to push toward the playoffs. We expect Tyson and the rest of our big guys to step up to the challenge.’

This means forward Joe Smith and center Chris Wilcox go back to the Thunder, as do the draft rights to Devon Hardin.

The Lakers, who Wednesday traded Chris Mihmto the Memphis Grizzlies, will get a chance to see Chandler in action Friday when the Hornets come to town.
