Maybe John Daly isn’t serious about that quitting golf thing he mentioned to a Golf Channel producer on Friday.
Larry Jackson, the CEO of Loudmouth Golf (Loudmouth Golf concocts the eye-shattering pants Daly loves to wear) told reporters at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando that he is skeptical that Daly will never play PGA Tour golf again.
‘John’s an emotional guy,’ Jackson said. ‘He’s not quitting, he’s already said he just needs some time on his Facebook page. He will be back. He’ll be back at the AT&T.’
The AT&T at Pebble Beach is Feb. 8-14. Daly had told the producer of his upcoming Golf Channel reality show, ‘Being John Daly,’ which debuts March 2, that he couldn’t compete any more. ‘I’m done,’ he said Friday after failing to make the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open. Daly was being shadowed by the Golf Channel crew in the parking lot at Torrey Pines.
