Phil Mickelson moving up at Torrey Pines

Phil Mickelson eagled the par-five 13th hole of the South Course at Torrey Pines in the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open on a perfect Saturday afternoon to move back to within four shots of co-leaders D.A. Points and Ryuji Imada, who are both at 12 under par after 10 holes.

Points and Imada held the lead after two rounds.Also tied for sixth with Mickelson is South African Ernie Els, who had been within two shots of the leaders until he bogeyed the 11th and 12th holes.

Murrieta’s Rickie Fowler,who just recorded his second birdie today on the 13th hole, is tied for fifth at nine under.
