Andre Agassi and John McEnroe will play an exhibition tennis match on July 24 at the L.A. Open. The proceeds will benefit the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. The foundation operates the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas.
Agassi was a four-time winner of the L.A. Open, while McEnroe won it twice. And Agassi beat McEnroe once at the event, 6-4, 0-6, 6-4, in the 1988 semifinals. Agassi won his 60th, and final, career title in Los Angeles in 2005.
Main draw play will begin July 26. Already committed to the tournament are Novak Djokovic, ranked No. 2 in the world, No. 5-ranked and defending U.S. Open champion Juan Martin del Potro and defending singles champion Sam Querrey and doubles champions Mike and Bob Bryan.
