It appears as though the Clippers’ first move in the summer free-agent market will be signing guard Randy Foye.
Foye, 26, who can play point guard or shooting guard, averaged 10.1 points for the Wizards last season and had gone to Washington in a pre-draft trade with Minnesota last year, along with Mike Miller.
He was drafted by the Timberwolves and played there for three seasons before going to Washington.
All the free-agent chatter in the early days had been about Miller, and his worth only went up and up after the Clippers had him in their offices Saturday. Miller could end up going to the Knicks, or possibly, Miami.
Foye became an unrestricted free agent when the Wizards did not extend a qualifying offer, and he found himself the odd man out when the team drafted John Wall at No. 1. He also had his left knee scoped after the season, according to the Washington Post.
