Brett Favre reportedly will return to the Vikings

Brett Favre will join the Minnesota Vikings for a 20th NFL season, according to a Biloxi (Miss.) Sun-Herald report citing a ‘highly placed source.’
Favre and his wife, Deanna, are reportedly on their way back to Minnesota. The source said Favre is expected in Vikings camp.
In addition, this message appears on officialbrettfavre.com: ‘Thank you for visiting Brett Favre’s website. We are awaiting a statement soon from the Vikings. As soon as this is available we will pass it along.’
Earlier Tuesday, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that kicker Ryan Longwell, guard Steve Hutchinson and defensive end Jared Allen were all absent from the Vikings’ morning practice and were en route to Hattiesburg, Miss., for a visit with Favre.
[Updated at 1:40 p.m.: According to ESPN.com, WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg reported that Favre departed on a plane bound for Minnesota at 2:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday. And FoxSports.com is reporting that Favre told Longwell, Hutchinson and Allen that he would be returning for another season.]
