Northern Trust Open: It’s easy if you know how on opening hole

Of the 22 men currently on the leaderboard at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club, all but three have either eagled or birdied the 503-yard par-five first hole today.

Retief Goosen and K.J. Choi recorded eagle threes; Jimmy Walker, Hunter Haas and Paul Casey only parred the hole and for that they’ve lost ground to everybody contending for the top.

So far through the tournament the first hole has ranked as the easiest to play with an average score of 4.271.
