The feel-good Tim Tebow story is meeting its ending in New England.
The Denver Broncos went three and out on their first second-half possession, and the ensuing punt was returned across midfield into Denver territory with the Patriots leading 35-7 in the AFC divisional playoff game.
Tom Brady threw for an NFL record five first-half touchdowns, three to tight end Rob Gronkowski.
The Broncos, meanwhile, lost a fumble and punted five times during their first-half possessions, scoring a touchdown only after an interception of Brady pass that gave Denver possession inside the New England 40-yard line.
Tebow has been beset by pressure and sharp secondary coverage by New England, often seen slumping on the sideline as his magical season nears its conclusion.
