As entertainment market manager for social networking site LinkedIn, it’s Rob Getzschman’s job to spread the gospel of making professional connections.

The 31-year-old actor, producer and musician came to Hollywood seeking his big break. He may have gotten it when LinkedIn sent him to the Cannes film festival to moderate panel discussions on three movies, including James Cameron’s latest, ‘Avatar,’ as well as to talk up LinkedIn’s effectiveness as a networking tool to entertainment industry executives.

Striking to Getzschman: No one was there to go to the movies. So the self-described ‘creatively ADD’ film school graduate decided to give LinkedIn’s 23 million members an inside look at what Cannes is all about by documenting the experience in video.

The result: a ‘Daily Show’ treatment of the world’s most famous film festival. He says:

I was in shock. This beacon of cinematic verite was nothing less than a marketplace ... or as the sign suggested, a ‘Marche Du Film’. Which, I’m pretty sure means ‘market of films.’ Like a supermarket. Except, that would be ‘Supermarche Du Film.’

An audition? We think Jon Stewart should give this guy a Palme d’Or. Getzschman is a natural Rob Riggle.
