Juan Corales, a 26-year-old Latino, was shot several times and died June 19 in the 1600 block of Mona Avenue in Compton, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Corales confronted three men who were parked in a car outside of his house; one of the men opened fire on Corales, hitting him several times, said Craig Harvey, chief coroner investigator and chief of operations for the coroner’s office.
Corales was shot about 11:09 p.m. and died at 11:39 p.m., Harvey said.
