Manchester, N.H. -- Chuck Norris is acting more and more like a candidate himself. And a combative one at that.
Since Norris came out foursquare for Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee in October, he’s been a constant traveling (and campaigning) companion with the candidate. He’s become so identified with the former Arkansas governor that another GOP contender, Mitt Romney, unveiled a Web ad last week that sought to humorously use Norris to tear down Huckabee.
One problem: Norris isn’t laughing.
His antipathy toward Romney has been increasingly evident. On the trail in New Hampshire on Sunday, he alluded negatively to the former Massachusetts governor. Today he was more direct: In his regular column on WorldNetDaily, his posting is headlined, ‘Saving a roundhouse for Romney.’
You can read it here.
At the end of the piece, Norris serves fair warning. He (or a ghostwriter) says: ‘Romney’s ad ends with the narrator asking, ‘Chuck Norris, Mike Huckabee, now who deserves the roundhouse kick?’ The ad answers the question by manipulating my photo, which delivers a blow to Huckabee’s head with the cartoonish lettering ‘POW!’
‘Of course my real response would be quite to the contrary. I think you can guess where my heel might land. POW!’
