According to some folks on the Rancho Verde side of the field, who are a bit worried that their team is losing to Bloomington, 14-10, at the half, Perris High School was originally supposed to be located at this site, but the PUHSD ran out of funds and the Val Verde Unified School District snatched the property up like Peyton Manning on waivers.

Rancho Verde starting running back Oliver Petty had to be carried off the field on the shoulders of two teammates, but seems to have made a miraculous recovery because he was trying to get back in the game just before halftime. The Mustangs also appear to have lost one of their starting offensive linemen to an injury.
