Twelfth-ranked Edison is 15 days into the 2007 season, and already coach Dave White has had to dig deep into his quarterbacking depth chart. UCLA-bound Nick Crissman led the Chargers to victory in their opener against Diamond Ranch, but was sidelined four days later after having his appendix removed.

Junior Garrett Heckel took over in game 2 against San Clemente and led Edison to victory, but he too was shelved after spraining an ankle in practice Monday.

Junior John Deluca was next in line, but an ankle injury in practice Thursday left the quarterbacking duties to sophomore Matthew Viles, who led the Chargers to a 45-0 victory today at Los Angeles Jordan.

White, who played without “seven or eight” starters against Jordan, said Crissman will probably play against Servite. Crissman told our Martin Henderson that he will play against the Friars, and if Martin believes him, I believe him.
