Fullerton knows all about black and white, fire and ice, and Jekyll and Hyde. The Indians have experienced nothing but extremes in their three games this season.

See, Fullerton won its first game by shutout, 13-0, over La Mirada.

Then, the Indians lost their second game by shutout, 37-0, to El Dorado.

Then, the Indians were shut out in the first half -- although the defense did score a safety -- by Cypress, but scored 34 points in the second half to come back from a 17-2 deficit to win, 36-24.

Offensive tackle Manuel Rojas, quarterback Thomas Sheehan, running back Michael Allain and defensive tackle George Flores have been doing a good job for the Indians.

But, said Coach Julian Smilowitz, ‘it takes 11 guys to play.’

Next week, Fullerton plays host to South Hills (1-2), which scored six points in each of its first two games, then 32 against Claremont.

‘They’re searching,’ Smilowitz said of South Hills. ‘They’re well-coached. They can score some points. They’re a good football team, too. We just hope they don’t find their way against us.’
