When tug-of-war bites back

I never did like tug-of-war. Don’t be surprised if it’s banned by the Colorado High School Activities Assn.

If you’re a little squeamish, might want to skip this account, but I’ll give you the nuts and bolts.

As part of the homecoming festivities at Parker (Colo.) Lutheran High last Friday, the senior football players were taking on the juniors in a game of tug-of-war inside the school gymnasium. I guess the seniors pulled a little too hard and partially severed the right hands of two juniors, right in front of the horrified student body.

Not sure how many thought it was a Halloween prank, but probably not a lot, considering the students reportedly started running for the exits when blood began to spray.

Anyway, more reasons why homecoming activities need to be toned down. And I thought long halftime shows were a pain.
