The Inland Empire looks to make a splash in a number of Southern Section boys’ water polo semifinals Wednesday.

Riverside Poly advanced to a Southern Section semifinal for the 16th consecutive season Saturday with an 11-5 victory over Laguna Beach. The fourth-seeded Bears will play top-seeded Villa Park at 6:30 p.m. at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine.

In Division III, Ayala upset fourth-seeded Bonita, 10-4, on Saturday and will play top-seeded La Canada in a semifinal at Pasadena City College at 7 p.m.

The final four in Division V each hail from the Inland Empire. Top-seeded Murrieta Valley plays unseeded Yucaipa at Roosevelt at 7 p.m. That game will be preceded by second-seeded Redlands and third-seeded Chaparral at 5.
