Redlands takes Division V water polo title

Redlands was on the losing end of last year’s championship game against Murrieta Valley, but the Terriers avenged that defeat Saturday with a 7-6 victory at Heritage Park in Irvine.

Kyle Adama scored three goals for second-seeded Redlands (22-7) as it knocked down the No. 1 team.

Adama tied the score at 4-4 and gave the Terriers a 6-5 lead with 1:10 left in the third quarter. Danny Anderson scored twice for Redlands, the last with 2:25 left in the fourth quarter for a 7-6 lead.

Andrew Heine had six saves for Redlands.

Joseph Cook had 13 saves for Murrieta Valley, which got three goals from Jordan Koeppen.
