SF Valley/North softball: Alemany’s Cuevas commits to Illinois

Alemany junior catcher Stephanie Cuevas has verbally committed to Illinois.

As a sophomore, Cuevas batted .304 and with three doubles and nine RBIs. More importantly, she played a role in helping the now graduated Sara Jane Webster become one of the most dominant pitchers in the region.

The Warriors finished 23-7 last year and are the defending Mission League champions.
