Boys’ basketball bonanza on Saturday

Southland hoops fiends have lots of ground to cover on Saturday.

The Johnnie Cochran Jr. Classic at Cal State Dominguez Hills starts first and features seven games. Dorsey and Oakland (CA) Skyline tipoff at 11:30 a.m. They will be followed by LACES vs. Hawthorne; Ribet Academy vs. Ventura; Santa Barbara vs. Renaissance Academy; San Diego Hoover vs. Diamond Ranch; Colony vs. Beverly Hills, and Price vs. Serra.

Or you can head north to Malibu -- if the predicted rains haven’t washed away the roads -- where The Rack Showcase takes over Pepperdine University. Malibu and West Adams Prep start the five-game set at 2 p.m. They are followed by Sylmar vs. Oakland; Compton Centennial vs. Inglewood; Compton vs. Fremont, and Taft vs. Dominguez.
