It was a strange reversal of Murphy’s Law for Annie Ly of Arroyo, as everything that could go right did. The Knights’ junior guard shot one long-distance jumper after another and kept making them, to the tune of a school-record eight--count ‘em eight--three-pointers in the host Knights’ 56-31 Mission Valley League girls’ basketball victory over Rosemead on Wednesday night. She finished with 26 points.

Ly entered the game averaging 9.1 points, but made three three-pointers in the first quarter, three more in the second and added two for good measure in the third. With Arroyo ahead, 56-18, after three quarters, Ly spent the last eight minutes on the bench. Need I say, she earned the rest.
