Apparently, it helps to have a last name of Kodama in Southland prep soccer this season. Three Kodama brothers -- Mike, Matt and Rob -- have their teams in contention to win league championships in boys’ soccer.
Mike, 47, has his Burbank Burroughs team in first place in the Foothill League. Matt, 41, has Woodland Hills Taft off to a 5-0 start in the West Valley League. And Rob, 38, has Encino Crespi in second place in the Mission League.
‘It’s the first time all three of us are fighting for a league championship,’ Rob said.
The brothers graduated from Chatsworth and all played soccer. And, evidently, they sure know how to coach.
