Don’t have a cow, man -- it’s time for some boys’ basketball finals tonight

The gymnasium air is wrought with tension. And anxiety. And even cow manure -- courtesy of the sprawling dairy farm next door and its hundred or so residents that make up the Holstein family and friends.

Here I am in an eastern nook of Ontario at Colony High, the scene for some high stakes boys’ basketball tonight: the Division IV-AA finals between Jurupa Valley (24-5) and Patriot (19-9) and Division V-AA finals between Pacific Hills (19-10) and La Verne Lutheran (27-0).

Up first is the Pacific Hills-Lutheran showdown in about 20 minutes. Can’t see wait to see which stars milk their money shot in Cow Land.
