There are two eighth-grade boys’ basketball players ready to make an impact next season, and they are the younger brothers of two well-known standouts.
Landon Drew, brother of Taft point guard Larry Drew Jr., and Brendyn Taylor, brother of Oregon guard Bryce Taylor, play on the same youth team and figure to be big-time varsity contributors next season as freshmen.
Taylor will enroll at Los Angeles View Park Prep, where his father, Brian, is coaching the boys’ team. Drew is expected to end up at Taft but there could be other contenders. Drew is considered better than Larry was as an eighth-grader.
