It’s all over in Woodland Hills, where Taft has routed Oceanside El Camino, 85-62, in a Southern California Regional Division I quarterfinal. Incredibly, this was a three-point game going into the fourth quarter.

If you had to pick which group of players looked fresher, El Camino would get the nod despite traveling more than three hours by bus from Fresno, a night after traveling six hours by bus for a game against Clovis East.

It wasn’t until Taft looked up at the scoreboard at the end of the third quarter, saw its lead was only three points and then put it in high gear.

Larry Drew Jr. left little doubt who runs this team. He scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 32. Justin Hawkins had 17 points and Terran Carter 14. Bryce Smith made three three-pointers in the fourth quarter when Taft outscored the Wildcats, 34-14.
