Riverside King battled back after falling into a 10-point hole against Westchester in their Southern California Regional Division I quarterfinal and trails, 16-14, heading into the second at Westchester.
Dwayne Polee, a 6-8 forward for Westchester, is playing above the rim, tipping in a pair of baskets against 6-7 defender Kawhi Leonard and then scoring on a fast-break slam for a 16-6 lead.
But Leonard had a tip in of his own and Eric Wise banked in a straightaway runner with two seconds remaining in the opening quarter to cut Westchester’s lead to two points.
