Marshall is built for a longer haul

Even with Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Palisades, which ended a four-game winning streak, Marshall looks like it can be as good as last year’s 19-12 squad that reached the second round of the City playoffs.
‘I’ve got 10 seniors who have played four years together,’ Coach Shane Gerard. ‘I think it’s a special group. They know how to shake off a tough loss. They’re ready to practice tomorrow and play Beverly Hills on Thursday.’
The only thing missing - a power hitter in the middle of the Barristers’ lineup that can change the game with one swing.
But there are many teams, especially among Marshall’s Northern League brethren, rocking that boat.
