Boys’ basketball: Los Alamitos’ Moore commits to Pepperdine

Corbin Moore, a 6-foot-10 post player for the Los Alamitos boys’ basketball team, committed to Pepperdine, it was announced yesterday. Moore averaged 15.8 points and 12.7 rebounds as a senior last season.

Moore is likely getting a roster spot that opened up earlier this month after Palmdale Knight forward Paul George was released from his letter of intent. George backed out after Coach Vance Walberg resigned.

That might have been a bit premature by George, since the Waves re-hired Tom Asbury, who coached Pepperdine from 1989-1994 and had a 125-59 record.
