Here’s a list of five things to know about for Friday’s slate of games.

- With Cal State Fullerton-bound Noe Ramirez expected to throw, Alhambra will host Montebello at 3:15 p.m. A win by Alhambra will clinch the Almont League for a fourth consecutive season for the Moors. If you haven’t seen Ramirez, pictured, pitch, do yourself a favor and go check him out. His curve is worth the trip alone.

- Bonita‘s 8-2 win against Charter Oak on Tuesday sets up a battle for first place in the Miramonte League for when the two teams do it again at Charter Oak at 3:15 p.m. Charter Oak (11-10, 7-2), which got off to a horrific 1-6 start, has displayed of late some of that form that made them Southern Section Division IV champions last year. If you go to the game, be sure to check out Bonita’s Jiovanni Mier, who’s batting .458, and Jason Plowman, both are juniors.

- Northview will be looking to clinch a Valle Vista League title at home against Ganesha at 3:15 p.m. Northview might be able to win the title on Wednesday if they win at Ganesha and San Dimas losses at home to Baldwin Park, but that’s an unlikely scenario. Look for Northview to clinch on Friday.

- Following Tuesday’s come-from-behind win against Hoover, Arcadia (13-9, 9-2) is now tied for first place in the Pacific League standings with Crescenta Valley (14-5, 9-2). With strikeout machine Bryce Rutherford on the mound, Arcadia will look to remain in first as they travel to second-place Burroughs (12-10, 8-3) for a 3:15 p.m. game. Rutherford (7-2), a junior, has 82 strikeouts in 50 innings pitched. His season high is 14 strikeouts in a game, he’s accomplished that feat three times. He’s reached double-digit strikeouts in five times as well.

- Speaking of the Pacific League, Arcadia and Crescenta Valley, currently tied for first place, play at Casey Stengel Field on the last game of the season--not this Friday, but next Friday (May 9)--at 7 p.m. The way this league is playing out that might be a winner-take-all championship game. Save the date now.
